Why do we lose our hair?
We lose our hair in time by the effect of genetic factors, hormones and environmental factors. Although many anti hair-loss treatments may help a bit, hair transplantation is the only certain way to solve this problem completely.
What is Hair Transplantation?
Hair transplantation is an operation that the bald or sparse hair areas are restored with hair follicles taken from the back of the head or from other sites of the body. The type of baldness, head shape, hair types are analysed and a personal approach is planned specified on each patient.
How is hair transplantation done?
Today, FUE (follicular unit extraction) and its modifications (DHI, Sapphire tip) are applied. First the procedure sites are anesthetized and cleansed. In this technique, hair follicles on the back of the head are extracted in a way not to distort the general hair arrangement. The hair roots are then sequenced according to the hair number included. Then canals are opened in transplantation site to place the follicles. Lastly the follicles are manually placed in their new positions. Operation is finished with a head wound dressing.
When does hair come up?
There will be a 1-2 months of shock loss of the transplanted follicles. After this time follicles are re-activated and hair will come out stronger every day. Hair maturation and establishment happens between 6 months to 1 year.
